Hi I'm Clint
I'm an attorney, I'm a father of five, and I'm married to the love of my life, Kathy. I'm a Mormon.
About Me
I grew up in a small town in Southern California. Dad sold cars and Mom wrote in the local newspaper. We attended Christian church services. I became acquainted with some Mormon kids in high school and went to church with them occasionally. I joined the LDS Church when I was 17, then attended college and law school. I am happily married, with five children and a wonderful life. My hobbies include service in the community - especially family causes, hiking, scuba diving, family history, and being a father and husband. I have coached all my children in baseball/softball, and have enjoyed the relationships with my neighbors in those activities. For my living, I practice law in areas that allow me to help real people with real problems find peace of mind.
Why I am a Mormon
I first became interested in the Church when I saw the good examples and happy lives of the kids at school who, it turns out, were LDS. I attended Church and felt peace there, a welcome attitude from the people, and I wanted to learn more. The Book of Mormon was the key. I began to read in it, and knew it was no ordinary book, but was scripture, words of God that I had not heard or read before. It was not what I expected, but I knew it was true and decided to learn the rest of the story from my Mormon friends.
How I live my faith
I have loved being involved in the Church since I was a teenager! In my daily interactions, I try to be Christ-like, caring about others and offering help and encouragement, especially to those who are having a difficult time. In my own trials, I live by faith, not by fear. So I press forward, trusting that God is there and it will all work out if I stand true. I spend many hours every week in my church calling, where I have been asked to serve 3000 people in my neighborhood (stake). It is daunting, but there are many wonderful people who do their part, too. We see families being strengthened, youth making good choices that bring them joy, neighbors reaching out to each other, and faith in the Lord Jesus Christ increasing. I bear witness of His reality, His love and His mission whenever I can.
He sounds like such a neat man! Welcome, Brother Smith- you are wonderful to leave all this behind to serve the Lord and our kids. I am so grateful!
